Our research
Research axes developed in the LaBoMaP are related to the study of manufacturing processes by material removal and the relationship with the processed material. These investigations rely heavily on experimentation but with an increasing numerical part and concern mainly:
- The machining of wood and difficult-to-cut metal materials; the generation of complexes surfaces by cutting operations,
- The on-line control of processes (turning, milling, veneer cutting),
- The elaboration and the characterization of engineered wood products (glulam, structural composite lumber, structural panels),
- The improvement of mechanical properties of metals and alloys by thermochemical treatments and/or PVD coatings.
- The development of new carbide tools by MIP and their study.
